تعريف الحاسوب

الحاسوب: هو آلة تعمل على إجراء العمليّات الحسابيّة، ومعالجة البيانات بدقّة وسرعة عالية.

يتعامل الحاسوب مع كميّات هائلة من المعلومات، كما يتمكّن من حلّ المسائل الرياضيّة المعقّدة، ويستوعب آلاف البيانات الفرديّة الصّغيرة، ويقوم بتحويلها لمعلوماتٍ أكثر فائدة بسرعة متناهية، ودقّة تكاد لا تخفق أبداً، وهناك بعض الحواسيب ذات المواصفات العالية تستطيع إجراء بلايين العمليّات الحسابيّة في الثّانية الواحدة.

أهميّة الحاسوب للإنسان

يقوم المستخدمون بإدخال البيانات إلى الحاسوب من خلال لوحة مفاتيح البيانات الّتي تخزّن في الذّاكرة؛ حيث يعمل الحاسوب على معالجة هذه البيانات، وتحويلها إلى معلومات، وإرسالها إلى جهاز إخراج يقوم بعرضها على المستخدم.

تكون كلّ البيانات والكلمات الّتي يتعامل الحاسوب معها على شكل أرقام، ويكون نظام هذا التّرقيم الثّنائي الّذي يطلق على هذين الرّقمين " بت " هما: (0 و 1)؛ حيث يتمّ توليف كلّ حرف أو رمز بتوليفة خاصة من الأصفار والآحاد إلى أرقام ثنائيّة، وكل توليفة تسمّى بايت، ومثال ذلك هو: (1000001)؛ حيث تمّ تحويل الأرقام إلى رموز.
